अब  के   बादल   ऐसे  बरसे। 
भीग  गया  है  मन  भीतर  से।।

कजरायी   हर   बदली-बदली। 
नयन-नयन  काजल को तरसे।।

मौसम  के   कुछ   हुए  इशारे। 
बूँदें  निकल  पड़ीं  सब  घर से।।

ढरक गयी  है  रस  की  गागर।
बूँद-बूँद   छलकी   अम्बर   से।।

लोक-लाज  सब   बिसरी राधा। 
चूनर  सरक  गयी   है  सर  से।।

नाचे   मोर   पंख   फैला   कर। 
मुग्ध   मयूरी   इस    तेवर   से।।

मन   बाहर - बाहर  को  ललचे। 
खींच   रहा    कोई    भीतर   से।।

उन्हें 'अरुन' क्या बारिश-बादल। 
जो  दुबके   बिजली  के  डर  से।।

This Shabad is present in Dasam Granth Sahib.

From Mukhaarbind (mouth) of Guru Gobind Singh ji; 
this Shabad was sung by him on the night of the cold 
winter when Guru Sahib ji had earlier in the day led 
the Khalsa forces in the battle of Chamkaur where 
Guru ji fought with the huge army of enemies of 
Khalsa Panth. His sons embraced martyrdom in front 
of his own eyes fighting for Khalsa ideals. 
Guru Sahib ji in this shabad yearns for remembrance of 
Waheguru despite of the extreme hardships and tough times.

LYRICS:
mithr piaarae noo(n) haal mureedhaa dhaa kehinaa ॥
thudhh bin rog rajaaeeaa dhaa oudtan naag nivaasaa dhae rehinaa ॥
sool suraahee kha(n)jar piaalaa bi(n)g kasaaeeaaa(n) dhaa sehinaa ॥
yaararrae dhaa saanoo(n) saathhar cha(n)gaa bhat(h) khaerriaa dhaa rehinaa ॥

ENGLISH TRANSLATION:

Tell the beloved friend (the Lord) the plight of his disciples.
, rich blankets are a disease and the comfort of the house is 
like living with snakes.
.... Our water pitchers are stakes, our cups have edges like daggers.
....Like the suffering of animals at the hands of butchers.
Our Beloved Lord's straw bed is more pleasing to us than living in 
costly furnace-like mansions.

The month of Saawan has come,

O my companions;

the clouds have burst forth with rain

 

O Nanak,

the blessed soul-brides

sleep in peace;

they are in love

with their husbands, Lord.

1.Sevitha surendra, mahaneeya guna sheelam,
Japatha Samadhi sukha varada anukoolam,

1.He is being worshipped by Indra has character of greatness,
Is Partial to those who chant his name and meditate on him and 

blesses them,
He looks after those devas and sages who think about him,
He is the cause of death of the tribe of very bad poisonous elephants.

2.Wearing a golden crown and other garlands,
Who looks great and shines like the white mountain- greatly shines,
Who puts an end the dark aspects like passion , fear , arrogance and 

irrationality,
Who has fame , great fame , He who chats and chats with sages like,
Sanaka , Suka , Narada , Patanjali , Parachara and Mathanga
And who is the embodiment of ultimate truth and leads to salvation ,
And who is the form of Vedic saying that “You are that”

‘Kathak Trivat’

A Kathak piece performed to Trivat, which is a semi-classical genre of

Indian classical music that imbibes the essence of percussion rhythms,

poetry and melody to present the Raga and Taal.

The composition and choreography of this Indian Classical Dance was

done in 1995 by Pandit Rajendra Gangani, one of the leading exponents

of the Jaipur Gharana of Kathak, who goes by the pen name “Rasraj”.

This dance piece has been revived especially for the Indian Raga Fellowship

and is performed by Pandit Rajendra Gangani’s disciple Eshani Sathe and her

disciple Srushti Mate.

The choreography of ‘Kathak Trivat- Rasraj’ maintains the traditional grammar

of the composition while, at the same time, employs a contemporary approach

to space utilisation and visual appeal.  The piece starts at a slow pace with soft

delicate movements in duet formations, but quickly moves to a fast pace that

continues to escalate throughout the piece.
