It is said that daughters are blessings. Sachin considers his daughter as a super blessing. Rare are the lucky parents who share the stage with their kids and the feeling is just awesome. Palak started learning flute at a tender age of 7 years and his father was her first Guru. Having two roles (one as a loving father and the other as a strict Guru) has always been a challenge for Sachin. So the scenes of Dangal were obvious at home. However, sooner than later, Palak realized the power of music and co-operated well. She went on learning with her father and both started learning from Anand Kashikar, and Himanshu Nanda also. At the current age of 14, she has got a good control over the instrument and tries to be innovative at the same time. She has started giving flute lessons to the learners as well.
This Father and Daughter duo now performs regularly in public and private events over flute and Sax. They have a Facebook page in name of The Golden Notes and YouTube Channel in name of sachinjain76. They live happily in Pune, Maharashtra with family.
Sachin & Palak Jain

Sachin & Palak JainSachin Jain
, Chartered Accountant by qualification and currently working as a National Manager in Operations in one of the most reputed NBFC in Pune had picked up flute somewhere in 1996. He started this musical journey from his hometown Multai (a small town of Madhya Pradesh. The origin of holy river Tapti), where he learned the basics of flute from Shri Habibraj. The learning was going on at a slow pace until he shifted to Mumbai in 2011 out of job transfer and got to know about a new world of flute players. Immediately, he got the reference of Jay Thakkar, a senior disciple of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and started learning professionally from him. Jay Thakkar coached him to handle and blow the base flutes wonderfully. After that, he took guidance from Anand Kashikar, a senior flutist of Mumbai for a long time. On and off, Sachin took guidance of Himanshu Nanda also, a senior disciple of Pandit Hariprasad Chaurasia and Director of Chinmaya Naad Bindu (CNB).
Saxophone fascinated Sachin for a long time while learning the flute. But there were a lot of hitches in starting the same. Where to find a Sax teacher who can teach in Indian classical style? Also, the saxophone is a complex machine to handle with an unusually high cost of the instrument as against the flute. The uncontrolled volume of the horn could be a trouble for neighbors and whether they will allow the practice (Yes, Sax is also called Horn. It sounds horrible if the volume is not controlled).
The fear of failure in handling the instrument once bought was also one of the deterring factors. Sachin’s mother, who is the inspiration behind flute also, once watched a Saxophonist playing in Kapil Sharma’s show. “Sachin, ye to tu bhi baja sakta hai. Try kar” (Sachin, even you can do this, do try), she told Sachin in 2016. And then, the trial of the instrument began at various musical shops to try different brands of Saxes, trying to get the sound at the first place and convincing self and family that he can genuinely try the instrument. He bought the first Sax in Dec 2016 and learned by himself as he could not find a teacher. His requirement was to learn the instrument from Indian Classical style and not from the staff notations pattern. He didn’t stop and upgraded the instrument which he got from London in 2018. In the meantime, he found Anil Karamakar, a senior Saxophonist from Pune and he keeps taking his valuable guidance whenever required.
