was a poet from Goa, India.
Bā Bha Borkar, also known as Ba-ki-baab, started writing poems at
an early age. Borkar joined Goa's fight for freedom in the 1950s and
moved to Pune, where he worked for the radio. Most of his literature
is written in Marathi, though his Konkani output is also considerable.
He excelled as a prose writer as well. His long poems Mahatmayan,
an unfinished poem dedicated to Gandhi), and TamaHstotra (upon the
possibility of blindness due to diabetes and old age) are famous. One
of his famous poems is "Mazha Gaav", meaning "My village".

सुखे ओवीत ओवीत
त्याची ओढतो स्मरणी
काय सांगावे नवल
दूर रानीची पाखरे
ओल्या अंगणी नाचता
होती माझीच नातरे
कधी होती डोळे ओले
मन माणसाची तळी
माझे पैलातले हंस
डोल घेती त्याच्या जळी

जुन्या विझवून चुली

This is poem written by popular Marathi Poet B. B. Borkar ( बा. भ. बोरकर ).
It is actually about an old person who is retired from his active life and happily relaxing now. While having rest this old person recollects all those moments he lived in his life. And this poem is about those sweet memories he lived. I think it perfectly resembles with person like Lata didi’s life who had such great active life, worked/struggled so much, earn so much of fame, love, money etc and now it’s time to rest now. So it is perfect song for Legendary Singer Lata Di to sing it as a last song of her career.
आता विसाव्याचे क्षण, माझे सोनियाचे मणी सुखे ओवीत ओवीत त्याची ओढतो स्मरणी ||
"आता विसाव्याचे क्षण" means that its time to rest (retire) now. Means these are moments of rest.
माझे सोनियाचे मणी (my golden gems) सुखे ओवीत ओवीत (Happily using the beads of a rosary in counting prayers)
त्याची ओढतो स्मरणी (remembrance)
The meaning of whole stanza is "These are moments of rest I will memorize (retain) all happy moments of my life"
काय सांगावे नवल, दुर रानीची पाखरे ओल्या अंगणी नाचता, होती माझीच नातवे ||
काय सांगावे नवल (joyfully surprising)
दुर रानीची पाखरे (birds of far away jungle)
ओल्या अंगणी नाचता (dancing in courtyard)
होती माझीच नातवे (Like my own grandchildren)
The meaning of whole stanza is "How joyfully I should tell you that all those beautiful memories (beautiful past of being child-youth-adult etc.) are like my beloved "grandchildren" (means so much lovable), dancing in my courtyard (enjoying in the bottom of heart)."

मन माणसाची तळी (Heart is like river/lake of human being where all good & bad thoughts keep floating)
The meaning of whole stanza is "Few lovely memories making me very emotional & my heart is full of emotions. At this relaxing moment, I am enjoying it & getting totally drenched into it)
कधी पांगल्या प्रेयसी जुन्या विझवून चुली आश्वासती येत्या जन्मी, होऊन तुमच्याच मुली ||
कधी पांगल्या प्रेयसी: those happy moments disappearing like a beloved sweet heart
जुन्या विझवून चुली : finishing everything for a moment
आश्वासती येत्या जन्मी: Promising for next birth
होऊन तुमच्याच मुली: Becoming your own daughters
The meaning of whole stanza is "Sometimes these memories are going away like a beloved sweet heart finishing everything for a moment. But while going away that sweetheart, giving me promises that it (beautiful past) will come back again like a own daughter to give lot of love.
मणी ओढता ओढता होती त्याचीच आसवे दुर असाल तिथे हो, नांदतो मी तुम्हा सवे ||
मणी ओढता ओढता होती त्याचीच आसवे: While chanting with gems its getting converted in to happy tears
दुर असाल तिथे हो: Wherever far away you are (those memories, that beautiful past)
नांदतो मी तुम्हा सवे: I stay with you
The meaning of whole stanza is: "While chanting all happy moments I am getting more emotional, and hence at last poet is saying that wherever these moments are (residing), I am also with them there, enjoying being with those sweet memories of life."
