Vithoba...the presiding deity of Pandharpur, regarded as a form
of Krishna. The word "abhang" comes from a for "non-" and
bhang for "ending" or "interrupting", in other words, a flawless,
continuous process, in this case referring to a poem.
आता कोठे धावे मन ।
तुझे चरण देखिलिया ।।१।।
भाग गेला सीण गेला ।
अवघा जाला आनंद ।।२।।
प्रेमरसे बैसली मिठी ।
आवडी लाठी मुखाशी ।।३।।
तुका म्हणे आम्हा जोगे ।
विठ्ठला घोगें खरे माप ।।४।।
English Translation
"How can my mind wander elsewhere, now that I have seen thy feet! The suffering & fatigues of life are no more, I feel eternal bliss. With loving devotion I have embraced Your name. Tuka says the one we chant, Vitthal is the true measure of greatness."
