This varnam is a paradoxical self-glorification
of a celebrated court dancer, Mannargudi Meenakshi, who sings in praise
of the last Maharaja of Thanjavur - Sivaji II.
The lyrics say... dānikē tagujānarā ! That girl is the right one for you!’...
But, the eyes of the courtesan before the king say something else!
