कोटा के विख्यात कवि, बशीर अहमद मयूख अब ९४ वर्ष के हैं। 
उन्होंने कविता और हिंदुत्व के क्षेत्र में मिसाल कायम की है। उन्होंने 
ऋग्वेद की ऋचाओं का हिंदी काव्यानुवाद किया है। सभी धर्मो के 
प्रमुख ग्रंथों के खास- खास सूक्तों को भी हिंदी कविता की लडि़यों 
में पिरोया है। कोटा में उनके द्वारा निर्मित शिव मंदिर में नियमित 
पूजा अर्चना होती है। बिड़ला फाउंडेशन ने उनकी पुस्तक "अवधूत 
अनहद नाद" को बिहारी पुरस्कार प्रदान किया है। जापान के एक 
विश्व विद्यालय के हिंदी विभाग में उनके द्वारा लिखी कविता पढ़ाई 
जा रही है। श्री मयूख को वर्ष २०१८ में, केंद्र सरकार की ओर से, 
प्रवासी भारतीय केंद्र नई दिल्ली में आयोजित समारोह में राष्ट्रपति 
रामनाथ कोविंद द्वारा 'विश्व हिन्दी सम्मान' से भी नवाजा गया है।

श्री मयूख गत पाँच दशकों से निरंतर सृजन रत हैं। आपके द्वारा 1973 में 
प्रकाशित ‘स्वर्ण रेख’, जिसमें ऋग्वेद की ऋचाओं का भावानुवाद है, 
उनका कवि सम्मेलनों में हजारों श्रोताओं के बीच में एक ऋषि की 
ओजस्वी वाणी में वाचन करना, अपने आपमें अद्भुद प्रयास रहा है। 
श्री मयूख ने, जैन सूक्तों का, गुरुग्रन्थ साहिब का भावानुवाद कर, 
एक मुस्लिम भारतीय सांस्कृतिक मन की जिस उदात्तता का परिचय 
दिया है, वह अद्भुद है। आपके द्वारा ‘‘मयूरवेश्वर  शिव मंदिर,’’ की स्थापना, 
तथा वहां धार्मिक, आध्यात्मिक वातावरण की संरचना के साथ सामाजिक 
चेतना का केन्द्र बनाने का प्रयास अपने आप में अभूतपूर्व है।
श्री मयूख द्वारा सृजित कृतियां हैं -

1. ‘स्वर्ण रेख’- (ऋग्वेद की ऋचा मंत्रों का काव्य रूप है- जो 1973 में 
प्रकाशित हुआ है। दो कविताएं, एन.सी. आर.टी. द्वारा प्रकाशित हिन्दी 
के 11वीं व बारवीं के पाठ्यक्रम में सम्मिलित है।
2. ‘अर्हत ’(1975) सूक्त काव्य का भाषानुवाद
3. ‘ज्योतिपथ (1984)’ वेद, उपनिषद, गीता, कुरान, गुरुग्रन्थ साहिब, 
जैन, बौद्ध आगम का भाषानुवाद
4. ‘सूर्य बीज’ (1991)

अयं बन्धुरयं नेति गणना लघुचेतसाम्। उदारचरितानां तु वसुधैव कुटुम्बकम् ॥

अर्थ-यह अपना बन्धु है और यह अपना बन्धु नहीं है,
इस तरह की गणना छोटे चित्त वाले लोग करते हैं।
उदार हृदय वाले लोगों की तो (सम्पूर्ण) धरती ही परिवार है।

Bharat Symphony is a tapestry of Indian culture in four movements,

Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam is a Sanskrit phrase which means –

Mughal-e-Azam (1960): In this film directed by K. Asif, 
the famous music director Naushad engaged Flute Mastreo
 Pannalal Ghosh (Pannababuji) for the flute playback 
of the Krishna Bhajan 'Mohe Panghat Pe Nandalal Chhed 
Gayo Re' picturised on Madhubala.

Based on Raag Gara which is a late morning or early afternoon Raag, the song is credited to Shakeel Badayuni and Naushad. It brings out not only the transparent beauty of Madhubala but also faultless singing by Lata Mangeshkar. But not many know that the song is not an original one (including the music and lyrics). It is said that this thumri was written by Raghunath Brahmbhatt ‘Raskavi’ from Gujrat for a play from 1920s called Chhatra Vijay. But there is also a controversy of this song being a traditional bandish for thumri.

It is thus mentioned in the book Encyclopedia Of Hindi Cinema – In Hindustani films, the tabla and the harmonium were used to provide the effects for chase scenes and then to play the sad and the happy melodies acquired from classical ragas and folk songs. At times they were played with words and the bandish, or the phrase of the raga. For instance Kalka Bindadin used to sing Mohe Panghat Pe Nandlal Chhed Gayo Re in Wajid Ali Shah’s court.

Mythological Reference: The Brihadaaranyaka Upanishad has the parable of the three da’s. When the divine beings, humans and demons approached their creator, Lord Brahma and asked for a lesson, he uttered the word “da“. The Devas understood it to be dāmyata, the humans understood it as datta and the Asuras took it to mean dayadhvaṃ.

dāmyata – Restrain yourself

datta – Give 
dayadhvaṃ – Be kind

ENGLISH TRANSLATION :

maitrīṃ bhajata akhilahṛjjetrīm - Cultivate Friendship and Humanity, which will conquer the Hearts of Everyone.

ātmavadeva parānapi paśyata - Look upon others as similar to yourself.

yuddhaṃ tyajata - Renounce war

spardhāṃ tyajata - Forsake (unhealthy) competition

tyajata pareṣu akramam ākramaṇam - Forgo unrightful aggression or acquiring by force

jananī pṛthivī kāmadughā(ā)ste - Mother Earth yields all that we require

janako devaḥ sakaladayāluḥ - God, our father, is most compassionate

dāmyata - practice Restraint

datta - be kind and give unto others

dayadhvaṃ - Be Kind to others

janatāḥ - Oh People of the World

अवधी भाषा दिवस प्रत्येक वर्ष को रामचरितमानस के रचयिता गोस्वामी तुलसीदास 
जयंती पर मनाई जाती है। अवध की संस्कृति, भाषा, साहित्य, लोककला, नृत्य-संगीत 
व परम्पराओं को फिर से प्रतिष्ठा दिलाने के उद्देश्य से श्रीरामचरित मानस के रचयिता

"Lapak jhapak tu aare badarwaa" from the film 'Boot Polish' (1953).

This is supposed to be a comedy song sung by a lesser actor 
in the movie, and comedy is sought to be introduced by singing 
a semi classical song.

Under such circumstances, Manna Dey was the singer to turn to. 
And Manna Dey was, who sang this song.This song based on 
raag Darbari kanada in carnatic music is brilliantly sung by 
Manna Dey.The singer has combined the elements of rasa (style) 
and hasya (humour) with elan. Composed in the style of a raagmala 
(multiple ragas strung together) from the Kanada and Malhar 
families, the song combines the stoic tradition of classical music to 
evoke a hilarious result. 

But as things stand now, this song, that was there to provide 
comic relief to the audience is perhaps the most remembered 
part of this movie.This song has indeed effortlessly entered into 
the hall of fame of immortal Bolywood songs. Such a classical 
magic with such comic lyrics so well performed by David & Co  
in the film.


The lyrics were written by Shailendra and the music was 
composed by Shankar Jaikishan. And their collaboration 
with Manna Dey led to this unforgettable song. And it is 
difficult to believe that this song is 67 years old. This song
