Sri Tallapaka Annamacharya (1408-1503) the saint composer 

of the 15th century is the earliest known musician of India to 

compose 32k songs called “sankIrtanas” in praise of Lord 

Venkateswara. 

Lord Vishnu manifested Himself as Lord Venkateswara in 

Tirumala Hills to protect the Dharma. from decay in the Current 

Age (Kali Yuga). 

Annamacharya was born as the incarnation of Hari Nandakam 

(sword) to promote Dharma through his powerful Sankirtanas 

(devotional songs).

पल्ल्वी 

कडलुडिपि नीराडगा दलचुवारलकु
कडलेनि मनसुनकु कडम यॆक्कडिदि।।

चरणं १ 
दाहमणगिन वॆनक तत्त्वमॆरि गॆदनन्न दाहमेलणगु ता तत्त्वमेमॆरुगु
देहंबुगल यन्नि दिनमुलकुनु पदार्थ मोहमेलुडुगुदा मुदमेल कलुगु।।

चरणं २ 
मुंदरॆरिगिन वॆनुकमॊदलु मरचॆदनन्न मुंदरेमॆरुगुदा मॊदलेल मरचु
अंदमुग दिरुवेंकटाद्रीशु मन्ननल कंदु वॆरिगिन मेलु कलनैन लेदु।।

TRANSLATION

This kriti explains beautifully that spirituality is not meant to be adopted

towards the fag end of our lives, but the earlier we get on to the spiritual

path, the better are our chances to live our lives to the fullest potential!

kaDaluDipi neerADaga dalachu vAralaku
kaDa lEni manasunaku gaDama ekkaDidi ||

You say you want to bath, when the waves subside, is there an end to the 

endless mind ?

सागर-स्नान, लहरों के शांत हो जाने पर करूँगा, यह सोच कितनी भ्रान्तिपूर्ण है। 

आखिर इस अन्तहीन अशान्त मन का कोई अंत भी है ?

dAhamaNagina venaka tatvamerigeda nanna

dAhamElaNugu tA tatvamE merugu

dEhambu gala yanni dinamulakunu padArdha

mOhamE luDugu dA mudamEla kalugu ||

You say "let me quench my thirst,and then i ll find the truth"
why should thirst be quenched? how can you know truth ?
is there an end ?

All the days you have a body, why should longing cease ? 

how can you find joy?

is there an end ?

तुम कहते हो, "पहले तृप्त हो जाऊँ फिर सत्य को खोजूँगा"। 

पहले तृप्ति क्यों? सत्य को कब जान पाओगे?

क्या इसका कोई अंत है?

mundarerigina venaka modalu maracheda nanna

mundarEmerugu dA modalella marachu

andamuga diru vEnkaTAdreeSu mannanala

kanduverigina mElu kalanaina lEdu ||

You say "after i know what lies ahead, I?ll forget what was before" 

can you know what lies ahead?

how can you forget what was before ? Is there an end ?
That goodness that comes of knowing how to reach God
you wont find it in your wildest dreams. is there an end?

तुम कहते हो, "जब भविष्य को जान लूंगा तो अतीत को भूल जाऊँगा"। 

तुम भविष्य को कैसे देख सकते हो? तुम अतीत को कैसे भूल सकते हो?

क्या इसका कोई अंत है?

ऐसे तो, ईश्वर तक पहुँचने का परमानन्द, तुम सपने में भी नहीं पा सकते। 

क्या इसका कोई अंत है?

अर्थात कोई अंत नहीं।
