मदालासां मञ्जुलवाग्विलासाम् ।
माहेन्द्रनीलद्युतिकोमलाङ्गीं
मातंगकन्यां मनसा स्मरामि ॥१॥"
I always meditate on the daughter of Matanga Maharshi 
who playfully holds a Veena made of Mankikya, who is 
lazy by intoxication, whose speech is picturesque and 
beautiful and whose body is resplendent like the dark 
blue gemstone.

कामकोटि पीठ निवासिनी ||

कोमल कर सरोज धृत वीणा |
सीमातीत वर वाग्विभूषणा ||

राजाधिराज पूजित चरणा राजीव नयना रमणीय वदना |
सुजन मनोरथ पूरण चतुरा निजगल शोभित मणिमय हारा |
अजभव वन्दित वासुदेव चरणार्पित सकल वेद सारा ||

Translation
Pallavi :
Protect (ava – root av) me (mAm) Shri Saravati !
The One who lives (nivAsinI) in the seat of Kamakoti.
Anu Pallavi :
Holding (dhRuta) a Veena in your gentle (kOmala)
lotus-like (sarOja) hands (kara), beyond (atIta) limits (sImA),
bestower (varada) of beauty (vibhUshana) to speech (vAk).
Charanam :
Whose feet (charaNa) are worshipped by (pUjita) kings (rAja)
and emperors (adhirAja), with lotus-like (rAjiva) eyes (nayana)
and a beautiful (ramaNiya) face (vadana). Swift (chatura) to
fulfil (pUraNa) the wishes (manOratha) of the virtuous (sujana),
whose own (nija) neck (gala) is adorned by (shobhita) a
jewelled (maNimaya) necklace (hAra). Extolled (vandita) by
Brahma (aja=unborn) and Shiva (bhava), the essence (sAra) of
all (sakala) Vedas, offered (arpita) to your feet (charaNa) by
Vasudeva (name of poet-composer).

Yamini Kalluri is a young talented Kuchipudi danseuse from 
Hyderabad who is a promising disciple of the renowned Kuchipudi 
dancer Padmasri Dr. Sobha Naidu.

Mysore Vasudevacharya (28 May 1865 – 17 May 1961) was 
an Indian musician and composer of Carnatic music compositions 
who belonged to the direct line of Thyagaraja's disciples.

Vasudevachar's compositions (numbering over 200) were mostly 
in Telugu and Sanskrit.

Some of his most popular kritis include Broche varevaru ra in Khamas ragaDevadideva in Sunadavinodini
Mamavatu Sri Saraswati in HindolamBhajare Re Manasa in 
Abheri and Ra Ra Rajeevalochana Rama in Mohanam

He was a recipient of the civilian honour of the Padma Bhushan.

Shobha Naidu (born in Visakhapatnam districtAndhra Pradesh in 1956),
 is among the foremost Kuchipudi dancers of India and an outstanding disciple 
of the renowned master Vempati Chinna Satyam. She mastered the technique 
of Kuchipudi and began dancing lead roles in dance-dramas while still very young. 
She has performed with her guru's troupe all over the country and abroad, excelling 
in the roles of Satyabhama and Padmavati. She is also an excellent solo dancer. 
Principal of Kuchipudi Art Academy, Hyderabad, Sobha Naidu has been imparting 
training to younger students over the past few years. In 2010, the school celebrated 
the completion of 30 years. She has also choreographed several dance-dramas. 
She has received the title of Nritya Choodamani from Krishna Gana Sabha, Madras.
She has earned a degree from Queen Mary's college.
